Get Outside! NB

Get Outside! NB is an exciting program that helps people of all ages connect with nature, using our province’s parks as the natural backdrop.

In partnership with Parks New Brunswick, UNB, colleges, NatureNB, Child and Nature Alliance of Canada, and others, CPAWS NB is training and mentoring a new generation of Parks Natural Leaders – our future wilderness defenders!  At a 2-day Get Outside! NB Leadership Summit at Mount Carleton Provincial Park, these new Natural Leaders will learn about New Brunswick’s wildlife and nature, conservation ethics, and how to organize activities and events to get others excited about our parks and nature.  The Natural Leaders will then work in our provincial parks throughout the summer, where they will lead nature-focussed activities and events.

Get Outside was co-founded by our sister chapter CPAWS BC, in collaboration with BC Parks, Mountain Equipment Co-op and Child and Nature Alliance Canada, with much success, so we are keen to bring that vision and spirit to New Brunswick.  The Natural Leaders we’re cultivating have an excellent opportunity to learn and become more engaged with the natural world around them, and through their enthusiasm and activity, they can help even more people become engaged with New Brunswick’s parks and wilderness.

We’ll make sure to post Get Outside! NB parks activities on our web site and Facebook page, so keep checking back!

CPAWS NB is thankful for the generous support of the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund, which allows us to fully participate in this new adventure.
