Get Outside! NB

Connecting People to Nature in Parks

Get Outside! NB helps people of all ages connect with nature, using our province’s parks as the natural backdrop.

CPAWS NB is partnering with Parks New Brunswick to offer Get Outside! NB activities in provincial parks so you can get up close and personal with nature. The best part is our Get Outside team will be there to help make this a safe experience for you and for wildlife! Through guided nature walks, beaver pond excursions, seashore explore and more, people of all ages have a chance to learn about the wonders of New Brunswick’s nature and can ask the team about conservation issues facing wild areas in New Brunswick.

We want you to feel confident and comfortable when you go out into nature. Our team will give you the tips and tricks for each park and show you the special nature connection habitats that are protected within our New Brunswick parks.

Get Outside encourages everyone to be an ambassador for nature in our parks and to share their experiences in nature with others.

How Get Outside Got Started in NB

Get Outside was co-founded with such success by our sister chapter CPAWS BC, in collaboration with BC Parks, Mountain Equipment Co-op and Child and Nature Alliance Canada, we were keen to bring that vision and spirit to New Brunswick. In 2013, CPAWS NB partnered with Parks New Brunswick, Nature NB, Renaissance College, Maritime College of Forest Technology, and Outdoor Educators of NB to found Get Outside! NB. We wanted New Brunswickers to benefit from the connections they can make with nature in parks and protected areas.

CPAWS NB is thankful for the generous support of the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund and the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund, which allows us to partner with groups across the province to lead this ongoing adventure.
